Recognizes the most innovative AI/agentic solution in FinOps cost governance. Evaluates originality, measurable impact, and scalability of AI-driven approaches.
Outstanding sustainability and environmental impact through FinOps practices. Recognizes organizations making measurable progress in carbon accounting, green procurement, and ESG-aligned financial governance.
Most impactful enterprise FinOps strategy implementation. Evaluates alignment with business objectives, stakeholder buy-in, execution quality, and measurable business outcomes.
Recognizes an emerging professional with under 5 years of experience who is making outsized impact in Financial Operations through innovation, leadership, or community contribution.
Most active and impactful community contributor. Recognizes sustained contributions to forums, mentorship, open-source projects, content creation, and peer support.
Breakthrough tool, framework, or methodology advancing the profession. Evaluates novelty, adoption potential, and demonstrated ability to solve previously intractable problems.
Most active and impactful IFO4 regional chapter. Measured by event frequency, membership growth, community engagement, and contribution to the global IFO4 mission.
Annual Competition
The annual AI/Agentic FinOps competition that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in Financial Operations. Participants compete across three challenge tracks in a multi-round elimination format.
Build a working FinOps solution under time constraints. Evaluate architecture, code quality, and real-world applicability.
Develop a comprehensive FinOps strategy for a complex enterprise scenario. Present to a panel of industry judges.
Design and deploy an AI agent for FinOps governance. Evaluate autonomy, cost awareness, and decision quality.
The Gauntlet winner earns 8 points toward the Gold CFOP Distinguished Fellow designation -- the single largest contribution opportunity in the IFO4 ecosystem.

Adjudication
Panel to be announced. Our judges are selected from senior IFO4 advisory board members and recognized industry leaders in Financial Operations.
